As the effective date of the UU PDP Implementation approaches, we at KAP Tambunan & Nasafi (BOKS International) have initiated efforts to raise awareness among companies in Indonesia about the importance of adhering to good practices in data privacy.
We began with a small yet significant step—reviewing the privacy policies of various companies.
The results were concerning:
⚠️ Out of 20 companies reviewed, only 3 provided comprehensive information covering all the requirements specified in Article 21 of the UU PDP.
🙅♀️ The 2 most commonly missing pieces of information in the privacy policies were regarding the timeline of data processing and the rights of data subjects.
✅ On a positive note, we see that the companies had included information about the objectives of personal data processing in their privacy policies.
We sent each company a summary of our review, hoping it will provide them with valuable insights to enhance their data privacy practices. 💡
